As if having a potentially dangerous machine in your home was not enough, Hotpoint continues to pass customers off like a bad habit.
Not Accepting Accountability
Having sold millions of the faulty dryers over the past 11 years, the company admitted to fault in November 2015. Which was too late. Since then many homes have went up in flames and some have even lost their lives. Unfortunately, company exes continue to mislead customers even to this date.
According to a company whistle blower, Hotpoint would force its workers to read a script telling customers the dryers were safe to use with supervision. Even though the fire chief warned people against their use. The whistle blower continued to say that they were required to pass customers off by transferring them. She went into details to say the managers would tell them to fill out a form to contact customers later which they never did.
Fixing the Problem with a Bandage
Hotpoint offered to fix the faulty dryers with a cheap repair, but many customers say they’re having to wait a year or longer to have it fixed. Some customers are even stated the company is charging them to have their repair fixed. Even worse, some customers say the repair has not fixed the problem. Sadly, it seems it won’t be long before Hotpoint, Creda and Indesit will be going for broke.
